Their playlists are insanely good - there are hand-picked ones, bubbling under ones, and my personal favorite, a series of playlists called Fresh Finds that is chosen through an algorithm that finds the songs that are really obscure yet are rising in terms of internet press. Unfortunately that's shut down, but Spotify is the next best thing. In turn, the playlists were the best I've ever seen - most of my favorite music was discovered through this service, as the songs they picked were extremely fitting for the playlists. It was a treasure trove of music discovery, with playlists hand-picked by a bunch of brilliant tastemakers in a small NYC office. GPM had a great thing going for a while with the service Songza, a free internet radio service that Google bought and eventually sadly shut down. In terms of music discovery, however, Spotify absolutely murders every streaming service from here to Tuesday.

Problem is the shuffle algorithm is a mess, especially when I use it on PS4. However, Spotify playlist are amazing and way more easily shared. No more songs with awful openings or minutes of silence. Someone mentioned Tidal allows you to edit songs in-app, and if that's true for songs that you've offline downloaded, that's amazing. In terms of playlists, it's Spotify or Tidal. Dre's Compton, and that's better than a whole wealth of Spotify sessions I'll never listen to. Now, this is probably subject to change because most exclusives are done, but Apple Music still has Dr. In terms of music exclusives, the winner is Apple Music, obviously. If Apple Music just kept iOS 9's Music app conventions, it wouldn't be a contest, because that was by far the most beautiful music interface (besides the awfully small scrobbler). But, it's still miles ahead GPM, Apple Music, and Tidal, all 3 of which are not very good. In terms of UI, Spotify is still lacking in some departments (those damn Genius lyric things that go over the album cover that prevent me from swiping down to go back to the song list unless I start the swipe ALL the way at the top). I've used all of the streaming services, and the only one that comes close is Google Play Music. Not gonna read this slideshow/multiple page thing, but for me it's gotta be Spotify.
